Here are some short and sweet details about our trip to Playa Mujeres, Mexico! Subscribe for my newsletter so you don’t miss the Photo Diary post coming soon!
First up – Our AMAZING sailboat charter!

No matter where we go on a vacation, Josh and I always block out at least one day for a sailing adventure. We love being on the water with our family and there’s no better vantage point to soak up the coastline views or take in the electric blue water than by boat! Here’s my bathing suit! And also here in 9 colors.
I have the best recommendation for you if you’d like to spend a day on the water the next time you’re planning a Cancun or Playa/Isla Mujeres vacation. Tell Luis Lindsay Stewart sent you! Here is your caring and attentive crew, Luis and Julio!

Their fleet consists of three different sailboats: a 38′ suitable for 16 passengers, a 40′ for 16 passengers and the one we chartered – the “Apotli” which is a 41′ for 12 passengers.
You can fill your day with swimming, snorkeling (gear included!), fishing, sailing classes and you can time your tour however you’d like – he’ll do sunrise and sunset cruises also! Refreshments are also included! We listened to music, anchored near Isla Mujeres and swam, we saw lots of turtles but apparently it’s also common to see stingray, whalesharks and barracuda!
Send him an inquiry, let him know what you’re looking for and he and Julio will take care of the rest. Their marina was a 10 minute walk from our resort but he can also pick up your group in a van for an additional fee.
We were in the best hands ever! Luis and Julio were attentive, caring, calm and generous hosts. The ONLY problem with a day out sailing is that you’ve never booked it for long enough.

Secondly – The INCREDIBLE resort!

She’s all-inclusive, not too big, not too small, lively without being clubby, family-friendly (with a neighboring adults-only version), and a staff who lives and breathes hospitality and understands attention to detail, and service with a smile. Upon arrival, you’re greeted outside by a tray of cool washcloths bathed in lavendar oil and a calm voice who already knows your name and says, “Welcome Home, Mrs. Stewart.”
I live here now.

The lobby is cavernous with a majestic marble staircase that lowers you into the main lobby bar with views of the meticulously well-kept walkways – layers of vegetation appearing as stadium seating flanking all the sidewalks enveloping you in a lush landscape beside the sea.
The rooms are spacious with large closets and shelves and lots of hangers!

My bikini is here. This color is sold out but there are countless other fabrics, colors and prints! I love the coverage, structure and retro shape!

The terraces all have table and chairs, a pillowed lounge and a built-in day bed and views of the property and it’s multiple swimming pools.

The bathrooms are large with walk-in rain showers, and double vanities with ample shelves. There’s also a large spa in the corner of each room accessible from in the room, but with glass walls overlooking your terrace and the tranquil oasis below.
The overall aesthetic is modern, a dash of mid-century, but elevated, clean, chic and sooooo cool.
Don’t forget this $20 must-have travel item that we’ve sold out together TWICE! Literally the difference between life and death.
This is the 4th time visiting this hotel group – and also – fun fact: where we renewed our vows in 2019 with 30 of our closest friends and family! I think we should do a throw back post for all of those photos – what do you think!?
